Bill,
We require all of our Engineering departments to issue a "Statement of Work"
(or Engineering Requirements Document) with every PCB layout that we do. It
has really helped us in "up front" preparation more than anything. Also, it
creates a record for future PCB layouts if someone needs to define a similar
PCB using the same type of rules and constraints.

Subject: [DC] Statement of Work
Hi All,
Does anyone on the list use a "Statement of Work" or some other similar
document for use with vendors to help define a job? It's used in
conjunction
with the PWB Fab drawings and BOM's to further refine customer expectations
of the finished PWA. I haven't heard of one before, did not see anything in
my
design guide and was wondering if IPC has something to say about this.
TIA,
Bill Brooks
