Steve
Just had another thought, my wife used to be an air stewardess and had the
rather unpleasant experience of tar / nicotine literally dripping down from
the aircraft ceiling during a landing...all over some poor woman's white
dress! Can you imagine??? And Phil said Yuck!? This is a real UrgHhh! No
apology given!
Maybe Jim Maguire formally of Boeing could shed some further light...

Subject: [TN] Cigarette Smoke and Computers...
Hi all!!
I've got a friend runs a company that provides computer systems and sets-up
networks for small businesses, who asked me if I knew of anything documented
about cigarette smoke damaging computers.
He said that he sees problems all the time that he can relate to cigarette
smoke damage. For instance; the tar and nicotine sticks to everything which
attracts dust and contaminates to the insides, not to much of a problem on
the boards, but the optical drives get hammered. He'd like to be able to
show
something documented instead of just him saying it, and asked if I knew of
anything documented...I'm gonna search at lunchtime, but I thought I'd also
ask the experts...
Thanks!
-Steve Gregory-
