Bill,

Have you looked at Ekra printers? (http://www.ekra.com) they make some pretty
neat printers. When I worked for Zevatech and exhibited at NEPCON West back
in 1998, there were some Ekra printers in the TAC line where we had some
machines. The neat thing about their printers was that you didn't have to
have a standard frame at all, they can use any frame without adapters!!

Those that have had to use adapters can testify that they can be a real pain
(myself included). I don't have an Ekra, most every place I've worked at,
always have had some other printer in place.

But if I were given the opportunity to look at buying a new printer, I would
have to consider looking closely at an Ekra printer. This is based on the
performance I observed from these printers at NEPCON, down at TAC line (where
it was set-up as a "flip-line") building demo double-sided reflow boards with
BGA's, MicroBGA's, fine pitch, 0402's, etc. for three days during the
exhibitions.

Back then the printers went for around 100K...full vision and all the
stuff...there wasn't many competitors at all (if any) that could match the
price...

Might check them out...
