Kathie, we use IPA, but we also limit the amount of external flux one can
use to hopefully zero, or just a very light touch. Excessive use of external
flux can cause more problems with solder connections than it helps. IMHO and
38 years of dealing with hand soldering problems.

Hi folks,

We're in the process of looking for a solvent to replace the Axarel 2200 and
IPA that we are using for flux removal at hand soldering operations.  We are
using RMA flux cored solder and RMA external flux.  We have mostly the
standard types of surface mount parts and connectors on organic CCAs.
Nothing terribly exotic - just the basics.

What are you folks using out there in TechNet land?
