Another "for what its worth", now that I think about it...

an MRI machine (magnetic resonance) has a HUGE field, enough
to wipe out all my credit cards and magnetize my keys,
and I don't think the circuitry is shielded in any way.

probably not an issue,

Jack

Hi All -

In the 'for what it's worth' department, we routinely expose all our
workstations, instruments, cell phones, gameboys, and other necessary
electronic gadgetry to huge magnetic flux changes.

Our main plating rectifiers operate at 10's of thousands of amperes DC. When
these rectifiers are turned on, or off, one can see the magic of collapsing
magnetic flux in living color on your monitor. We do not see an unusual
incidence of electronic failures, and so one would surmise that a
magneto-medical wrist bracelet would probably be OK.

FWIW,

Jon Meigs

Richard

As I look at your message on a large 21" monitor containing a variety of
strong magnetic fields (some with an enormous dv/dt during flyback) and
a host of semiconductors, I wonder what will happen when I press the
degauss button, other than send the image to hell for a couple of
seconds. This is just one helluva sight stronger than that of a
magnetised tool, and it's AC to boot. No, one need not worry!
