Hello Steve,

While I don't know the layer count of the board, we just built a very large
area stencil.  The OD dimentions of the frame was 52" x 30.5", with a foil
size of 24" x 34".  Aperture count in the neighborhood of ~18,000.

So the answer to your question is yes there are people building large
boards.
