Bev,

Please, do not eat your shorts!

This "stuff" quoted as a "hydrocarbon" should soften and swell but not
dissolve silicone. It will soften it enough to facilitate its removal,
although getting the itty bitty bits out from under the components will
require a fair degree of manual dexterity.

There are some true silicone digesters out there, but anything that will
truly dissolve or digest silicone, is not the sort of "stuff" you want to
mess around with unless you REALLY have to.

Regards, Graham Naisbitt

Below is a message from Jeff Geraden that I thought I should share with all
of you.

Is it your collective opinion that I should now eat my shorts? :) Now I
want to know HOW this stuff works, even though I don't need to dissolve any
silicones right now.

Bev,

This material I know will dissolve Dow Corning 3145 from previous
experience. I am confident it will on other cured silicone RTV's. I forgot
to specify cured or uncured. I used the Dynasolve 225 and did not use any
other dynasolve choices. Make sure you obtain a Technical Data Sheet before
use. Some very important/good information on it.
