Doug,

Is there any chance the mold could be made out of aluminum? There would be
no issue with solvents to remove the epoxy if an aluminum mold was used.
All of our molds are aluminum except for prototype molds which are made from
a Dow Corning Sylastic product.

Subject: [TN] Epoxy and Polycarbonate

Good morning all,

I have a polycarbonate fixture here used for potting connectors with a two
part epoxy material. After some use, the epoxy needs to be cleaned out of
the fixture holes. Right now, a drill is used, but does nasty things on
the hole tolerances. Do any of you chemically minded people know of a
solvent which will dissolve an epoxy coating, but which will not harm a
polycarbonate?
