This is just to give a thanks to everyone that contributes...and to let
everybody know that when you make a contribution, it does make a difference...

I think that everybody realizes that nobody will compromise any proprietary
information, but what I've found that this list is useful for, is for things
that are "old hat" for some people, but maybe a new deal for some of
us...nothing secret, just basic information that isn't learned until you're
faced with a issue..

The perfect example, was my last post about epoxy inks...

I'm no chemist (obviously), but I did have enough sense to realize that if
there was something out there that could take off cured, 2-part epoxy inks,
then there should be a very real concern about damaging the laminate as
well...no mattter how much I tried to explain that epoxy is epoxy, whether it
is used in inks, masks,or resins in the laminate, and that whatever could
remove the ink would remove mask and everything else...the response back to
me was; "Steve, there's got to be something out there!"

So I posted to the TechNet...so it wouldn't be just my voice.

There's unfortunatley, a somewhat skewed belief here of; "Better living
through modern chemistry"...a misguided belief with some people that there's
always some chemical or substance that will cure all problems (I kinda'
believed that back in the late 60's, early 70's...hehehe...just kidding).
"Can't ya'll buy some sorta' stuff that'll take that ink off? There's gotta
be somthin' that'll take that off, we had some stuff before that would take
that off...just ain't sure whut it was"...was the cry that I heard..

I was slowly able to show that there's quite a few other considerations that
need to be thought of when trying to do something that might be perceived as
simple as removing a mistake of epoxy ink...

When I showed everybody the responses I received from all of you, they then
believed me...we're going to block out the mistakes with black ink, and
re-apply the serial numbers.

Again, thanks...you really do help.
