Hi all,

I need some suggestions of possible causes of the following problem.

Several boards from a lot are exhibiting problems with low resistance
(approx. 500 ohms) between VCC and GND on a 324 pin BGA.
We have eliminated the BGA as the problem and believe the source to be
contamination. When we remove the BGA and place a new one, the problem goes
away.

We know one possible source of contamination is the surface of the PCB.

Is it possible to have this type of problem inside the PCB and when heat is
applied locally it fixes the problem?

Thanks,
