We occasionally cross out the old numbers with epoxy ink and re-number next
to it, as long as you have the real estate. If not, could you scrape it off
using an x-acto knife?

We want to get in on this---because we have tried everything from
Ajax to
nitric. What we end up doing is resolder mask the board and then
re-inking
the serial info. It is easier to dissolve the FR4 material than
removing the
cured ink.
