Hi Barbara
Made in U.S.A. should be visible when unit is assembled, if possible.
It is my understanding that we place periods between USA
when we state Made in U.S.A. to eliminate confusion.
Someone told me once, there is a Swiss company named USA.
Is this so ? ?
Good Luck

on the PCBs

Does it matter where the Made in U.S.A. is placed and are
the periods
                (U.S.A.) of any significance?

                Ken,
Did you ever get a response?
                Here's my $0.02:

The minimum required marking would be the copyright symbol
("c" with a
circle"), the date (year), and the company name. Where
space is not
critical, you can put "COPYRIGHT" in front of the copyright
symbol.
Remember the copyright only protects how the board looks,
not the circuit
design itself (in the USA, may or may not apply the same in
other
                countries).

As far as country of origin, all you need is "Made in
U.S.A." This is only
for products that are shipped outside of the USA, and where
the board
assembly itself would be returned, to make it easier to get
such an
assembly back through US Customs. If the board is an
integral part of
another assembly, the note would not be needed.

                Guys,
Can someone throw some lights on what kind of copy right
marking are being
applied on the PCBs? Also, anything on country of origin
requirements.

                re,
                ken patel
