James,

IMO switching from Nitrogen to air can work, but only if you make sure to
install a method of removing dirt particles and moisture.  Also you will
have to be vigilant to keep this filter system clean and working.

We currently use air at 20 psig for circuit board blow off.  The air is
supplied by a compressor that has a large dryer and moisture removing system
attached.

Management in our company is interested in reducing cost and would like to
change over our Nitrogen air lines that we use tthroughout the company to
blow off product to Compressed air.  We would keep nitrogen in areas that
have Dry boxes.  Any commemts one way or the other would be appreciated.
