I recall discussing this question on many occasions over the years. We've
always concluded it would not be appropriate for us, as IPC committee
members, to create specifics. We leave it up to each company to set their
own limits.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific. Maybe a few TechNetters could forward
limits they use at their companies.

Subject: Limits to Lifted Pad/Open Trace


Hi! I would like to know if there are any standards or norms as to how many
lifted pads and open traces are allowed for repair within a printed circuit
board. Does anyone know any guidelines to this? I know IPC says that it
depends on the customer, well most customer don't know or don't say. Hope
you guys have more quantitative answers here...
