The chemicals to remove oxidation exist, but they either work slowly, or they
are dangerous, and perhaps both.

You have to ask further, if you can risk contaminating the device itself by
inserting the lead too far into the liquid, or by splashing.

How did you plan to contact this solution with the leads?  Dipping?  wiping
with a swab, perhaps a cotton tipped type?

The solutions to remove the oxidation will have to be either very acid, or
very alkaline.  Can you risk using this sort of solution.  If the answer is
yes, get back to me, and I will forward you some samples.
