Like most fans that watched the race yesterday.....

I was real excited and happy for Michael Waltrip winning his first race....
I watched in horror the huge pile up on the back straight with all those
cars...
I tensed at the sight of Tony Stewart slumped against the steering wheel
inside his car...
I was relieved to know that everyone was OK from that accident...
I saw the ambulance with Dale leaving the track in no particular hurry, so
it seemed...
I watched a replay of the last accident, thinking it didn't look so bad...
I couldn't understand why Ken Schrader was so badly shaken when talking
about that final turn...
I viewed FOX signing off thinking, wow, what a great race...

Tuned in a few hours later looking for race highlights, only to hear
tributes about Dale...
Then I realized that the unthinkable had happened...
Dale was gone. What an incredible loss for racing, an even bigger loss those
close to him...
Dale, you will be sadly missed. The sport will never be the same.
