Hey Steve,
The diameter of the "rabbit poops", is that personally measured or from manufacturer's specs? What tolerance is given?

I'm assuming you want these baskets to be able to go though an in-line
cleaner with small assemblies so that they don't bounce around like ping-pong
balls in the cleaner...

I ran into the same problem with the Trek Triton IV that I had at a past
employer (10-hp pumps, and 20-hp blowers), I made baskets myself from
zinc-coated 1/4" mesh screen...the kind that is used to make rabbit hutches
(so the poop falls though..rabbit poops are normally less than a 1/4-inch in
diameter...hahaha)

Seriously, it works great! you can cut out any pattern or size that you need,
and secure all the corners and hinges that you need with "zip-ties". By doing
that, it will give you enough mass that the assemblies won't get blown around
all over the place....they're so cheap to make on your own....from what I've
found, places will ask from $100 to $250 per basket for a stainless steel
one, lotsa' money if you ask me!

If you have to make new ones once inna while, so what? They're so cheap!!!

I posted some pictures of ones that I made a while ago...ask if you want some
pictures.
