Hi JF ( don't know more of your name )
What do you mean with regular tooling. You need some metallographic equipment:
- Moulding equipment to embed the specimen in resin
- Diamond saw, disc or wire.
- Polishing machine with various grinding / polishing disks
. 1 Knuth rotor with paper 180, 250, 400, 1000 or equivalent diamond foils
. 1 disc with diamond 7um
. 1 disc with diamond 3um
. 1 disc with diamond 1um
If you don't have to do micro sections to be done on a regular base they can be polished by hand ( with enough experience of course ) otherwise it is recommendable to use a polishing head that hold your specimen in place applying a constant load.
I believe, if you don't already have a metallographic lab it is the easiest way to let the micro sections to be done.
Have a great day
