Featured Speaker: Ray Prasad, Beamworks Inc.

Mr. Prasad is President of Beamworks, Inc. Before starting his own
consulting practice in 1994 he held key technology positions at Boeing and
Intel. Ray
is the author of "Surface Mount Technology: Principles and Practice" and a
columnist for SMT Magazine. He is a popular workshop leader at many national
and
international conferences. Mr. Prasad is a long time member of IPC, and the
past and present chairman of several committees including the newly formed
IPC-7095 Design and Assembly Process Implementation for BGA's. Ray is
also the distinguished recipient of several coveted industry awards.

This presentation will address two distinct areas of Design For
Manufacturing. First Ray will discuss some key DFM guidelines (preferred
surface finishes, via sizes and land pattern geometries related to BGA's
and fine pitch components) and their impact on quality. The second topic of
conversation will be the use of selective automated assembly equipment on
planned missing components.
