MEETING OF THE SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER
OF THE IPC DESIGNERS COUNCIL

Date: Wednesday, the 13th of December 2000

Where: Connies Restaurant - Derby, Ct.

Time: Networking 6:00pm, Meeting 7:00pm

Topic: Laser Drilled Vias and HDI. Is it for you?

A technical presentation on laser drilled vias and HDI will be given by John
Quigley,
Tech Circuits.

As densities required for tomorrow's challenges increase, technologies in all
aspects of the fabrication process need to keep pace. Laser drilling is one
of those areas. There is quite a significant effect on routing capability
with reduced via size as compared with reducing trace width for routing
density. How can this technology help me address my current density crunch?
Is it cost effective? What affect do the materials have? What is practical?
These are just a few of the questions that will be addressed in this
presentation.

Other Business:

In addition to our technical presentation, we will look at the program that
our board of directors has selected for 2001.

Our December meeting will also feature a festive holiday event (holiday door
prizes!), as well as a time for fellowship between our members. All members
are encouraged to join us for this final meeting of 2000.

Meeting host:

Our meeting host is Tech Circuits, a Manufacturer of high quality Multilayer,
Double-Sided, and Single Sided printed circuit boards specializing in
prototype and pre-production delivery cycles. They are a privately held
corporation who has worked diligently since 1979 to earn and maintain an
outstanding reputation in the manufacture of Printed Circuits to all
