Joseph; We have been using 3M scotch brand # 218 for some years, doing exactly
what you are.
Works well. As well we use in an ionized stream.
Good luck. Ernie Crump, Raytheon Canada Limited.

 Subject: [TN] Conformal Coat Masking

Can anyone out there recommend a good masking tape?

Desired properties, in approximate order of importance:
1. Withstands 85C indefinitely.
2. Sticks well, but peels off without leaving residue.
3. Antistatic a plus, but conductive probably not worth it (we
    use ionizing air blowers).
4. Inexpensive.

Our coatings are mostly urethanes, manually sprayed.
