Right ON Franklin!

Alloy 42 can set up some serious cleaning issues exactly because of the oils
you talk about (reacting with the iron oxides on the surface, not a pretty
picture).  The only way to clean these is to clean them before they are
assembled into the packages.  Get to your vendor, and have these things
cleaned well.
