I've come across similar problems. If I understand you correctly and you
only have a few boards that you "can't put the lid on" for your totes, in
other words the boards are too long. You may want to consider zip-lock type
static
shielding bags. This assumes you are trying to maintain a faraday cage. With
the boards enclosed in the bags, you can then put the bags into the totes
without a lid. The bags would be an inexpensive solution, and would work
well for small numbers of boards, but the bags may quickly become awkward
for large quantities. I hope this alternative may help you.

Subject: [TN] transporting assemblies inside manufacturing facility

TechNetters,

Please let me know of your methods for transporting assemblies in your
plants.

We have been using Olympic "totes". These are heavy, static-shielding,
polypropylene black boxes. But we have some assemblies that are too big to
fit inside - we can't put on the lids. And for other reasons, we would like
to try something else.

We are looking into some containers made by Kenflex. Their advantages are:
boxes can be custom-sized and assemblies ride is sliding, static-dissipative
polyethylene baffles. The disadvantage is they are expensive: depending on
number of baffles and box size, prices run in the 200$ range. (The Olympic
totes are about 55$.)

For any comments, many thanks, muchas gracias, grazie, merci beaucoup, muito
obrigado, Danke...
