Ron,

I surly hope that discussion is not considered starting a controversy! I do
believe in discussion, after all look at what is going on today in the US.

Anyway, when you say Japanese companies are shipping product without lead
solder, can you qualify that for me? The last I read up on that was at least
questionable, and then you need to talk to the raw board and components to
totally understand the level of 'lead free' that is being touted about as
'Green'.

Granted the push is on. Personally I see a gigantic hurdle to overcome to
get to true lead free. I am just not sure the political aspect of this
subject is going to be educated on the best way to deal with the presumed
lead problem. Let's face it, it we just go out there and change to lead
free, what takes its place? Is it better or worse than the REAL lead problem
that exists for the electronics industry?

OK, OK, I will lay off!! I believe there are real questions that need to be
answered before a firm timeline can be implemented and as long as these real
questions are acknowledged, then we should see reasonable progress.
Regardless of how much time it will take.

Good luck to everyone!
