Well, the real reason I am asking the question about tolerance,
is that it was suggested to me that we use .120 +.002-.000 for
tooling holes to fit a 3mm pin.

I just wondered if a 2mil tolerance was really necessary, since
I have been using +.005/-.000 for about 15 years now...

(assembly people might not know, maybe I should have
asked fab vendors what they typically see on the prints)

If you have .125" holes in all your boards, I think it would be easier to get
some tooling pins that match your boards rather than have to go and change
all your board designs. Fuji tooling pins are changable, it's just a matter
of loosening a set-screw and putting a new pin in...any competent machine
shop should be able to make them for you.
