Yup, dust would be a problem! So when we moved our R&D lab to a new area
w/concrete floor, the floor was coated with an epoxy-based paint for floors
(it was smooth to begin with). Takes care of any dust. After that,
standard ESD procedures were used. If static is a real problem in some
areas, suggest using anti-stat mats just in those work areas.

We are considering what type of ESD flooring (if any) will be put into a
new
expansion building of ours. Currently the plans just call for a concrete
floor and we would utilize ESD totes and protected work stations to be in
compliance with ANSI S20.20.
Can anyone give me some feedback on just having a concrete floor and what
"special" handling provisions were needed to be put into place in the
absence of a floor grounding method? (This would be without wax, tile,
carpet, mats, etc...)
Please advise.
Thanks,
Rich
