Let me revise this request.
I would like to direct the question below to companies that build both
class 1 and class 2 assemblies.
What is the difference in your process for class 1 and class 3, and what is
the difference in quoting for class 1 and class 3?
What is the typical cost difference if I build class 1 product and want to
change to class 3?
For instance, my class 1 board cost $10.00 to build, what would be the cost
to build this board to class 3?
A little bit of background, we are building assemblies for a sister plant.
We build smt parts only (no TH) and we do not test the boards. I cannot
imagine a contract house that would accept these constraints, let alone
agree to class 3 requirements. What are your feelings? We are trying to
improve our processes working within the constraints given.
Thank you for your help.
