I have a question regarding part suppliers, specifically relating to an EEPROM.

We had been using a EEPROM which is now discontinued. In order to get us through until we can redesign the product, we bought a quantity of these parts from various sources with very poor results. A huge percentage of the parts were defective. This may or may not have been a problem with the original manufacturer. It may indeed have been a result of what happened between the time of manufacture and the final arrival at our facility.

Anyway, we have found a direct replacement part from Catalyst Semiconductor (p/n CAT24C01BP). We do not have any experience with these folks and so I am reaching (thrashing) out trying to do whatever is feasible to get some level of confidence. I have a lot of internal and external testing planned,. but figured I would call on my Technet friends to see if anyone has had experience (good or bad) with these folks. I can be emailed directly at [log in to unmask]

Thank you very much for your help.

Mike
