In a past life we used to use a laser marking machine to mark nickel plated
heatsinks on circuit boards. Maybe you might have a laser marker in your
facility that you can use to mark the parts. Because if I remember the
marking always seemed to come off the nickel heatsinks during cleaning.

Having trouble ink marking (epoxy ink) on nickel plated housings. Marking
comes off during in-line aqueous cleaning process. Any suggestions?
