Hi TechNet,
I just got into PCB design a couple months ago - I was previously involved
with manufacturing cable assemblies. I was turned onto TechNet last week
and am enjoying the emails. We design 5 different boards: 3 double sided
and 2 multi-layer. We get our manufacturing done in quantities of ~150units
per board. Our board sizes are such that we get anywhere from 3 to 30
boards per panel. I was having a discussion with our purchasing department
over bare board pricing and two issues are unresolved.
1. Should the per board price increase with a production quantity decrease
from 150 boards to 120 boards?
2. Is an e-testing charge generally included in the per unit price or will
it be charged separately? I know that the initial tooling charge for
testing will be shown separately, but what about a lot charge for subsequent
production runs.
I'll let TechNet have the final say in this.
