We normally see this if the pot is allowed to cool then is heated up. The
geyser is caused by the solder being 'spit' out the chimney caused by the
solder 'freezing' away from the center of the solder mass making a hole in
the block.
You should check to see if the power is being turned off by a "helpful" night
person and make sure the pot is covered with metal lid over night. The lid
will prevent the solder from splashing the ceilings
