Hi Frank,
Plating cracks are usually due to build up of organics in the plating bath,
maybe you need to do a carbon treat. Is this an isolated case? Is it just
one hole or a number of holes on just one board? If it's an isolated case it
may not be the plating bath.
What does the hole look like when it's sectioned? Is the hole wall rough?
Protruding fibres may lead to stress raisers. Is the electroless or direct
metalisation OK ? If this isn't continuous it can lead to "plating folds"
which can separate on thermal shock.
