Hi Rick!

Well, it does happen occasionally...but very seldom. The times that I've seen
it happen was because the carrier tape pocket wasn't deep enough to keep the
part down away from the tape...

One other issue that may, or may not be a problem with you (depending on what
kind of pick and place machine you have, and how the top film exits the
feeder) you may see PSA tape sticking to the rollers.

On our Philips feeders, the tape gets peeled back from the carrier tape and
goes through a bunch or rollers before it exits out the bottom of the feeder.
Sometimes, the PSA tape will start wrapping itself around the rollers.

Philips has retrofits for the feeders in the form of Teflon rollers that will
help prevent that. At past places where I've worked with FUJI and Zevatech
machines, that isn't an issue because of the design of tape feeders used with
those machines...
