Technically, If there is no tolerance specified and no governing spec called
out in the notes .... you have a zero tolerance part.
Frankly, the designer should review the drawing and specify a tolerance. If
there is a general tolerance called out by decimal places in the title block
it would take precedence if there was no tolerance called out on the
dimension...
As a designer, I always appreciate a telephone call if there is anything on
the drawing that doesn't make sense.... I don't like to admit it... but
haste can do some strange things....
If I were you, I would call....it's better than making assumptions. He/she
may have a need for tight tolerance or may not care... but let the designer
make the decision...

Subject: [TN] finished thickness

Hello Fellow Tech net Friends

Question: If a finished thickness of a multi-layer board is stated on a
drawing but there is no tolerance what is the IPC standard
and were can I find that spec. I was to understand that the tolerance was
+/- 10% of the finished thickness.
