Of course the holes could not be tested in such a manner, the article
dealt with the AOI supplementing ET, not as an absolute replacement, it
just got me thinking I see jobs on occasion, most double-sided, where I
think "why are we testing these boards..." These are typically wide
trace through hole product drilled at .040 - .050 or larger...and
they're usually are a ton and a half of them. Just wondering if I'd save
time and money performing an optical inspection on the AOI, of course
the customer would save in fixture and testing cost...just a thought is
all.
