We are a fabricator and we prefer to see IPC 6012, Class 1, 2 or 3 specified
depending on the reliability issues you are needing.

Generally for straight commercial product IPC 6012, Class 1 is a very
sufficient standard

We see class 2 for higher reliability product and Class 3 on critical
reliability items for aerospace, defense and that type of board.

Hope this helps. You can order these specs off the IPC web site at
www.ipc.org
