I knew if I looked long enough, I'd find out what the "E" means. There's a
*.PDF
file up on the web of MIL-S-13949H, Amendment 2 (I know it's obsolete) but
will help decipher things when those of us that have to deal with old fab
drawings. It's at:

What GEE translates to is:

G - E-glass, woven

E - Epoxy, non-flame retardant

and according to the spec; "...if the third letter is not N or P, then the
second and third letter must represent the same resin system."

As far as GFN goes:

G - E-glass, woven

F - Epoxy, flame resistant

N - For natural color of resin system.
