Hi Hans! (Boy, that feels weird.)

I have used a Sony DSC-D700 Digital Still Camera with a 96 Meg Memory Card
for macro shots. It takes impressive pictures. I need to test it again
with the Mantis, last time it didn't do so well. (Get back to you once the
PC Card reader is installed on my machine.)

The UV and Visible light pics I posted a week ago were taken with a Sony
Digital Video Camera (that can take stills) DCR-TRV NTSC - Super Steady
Shot Mini DV Handy cam Vision. The resolution of the Still Camera is much
better.

I've also used an HP Digital camera and a Kodak in the past but they didn't
do so well.

For our coupon inspection we use a mounted CCD camera on a Leica microscope.
My delamination/laminate voids picture was captured with that system - not
quite as good as I would like but the system is a couple years old.

I'm looking at getting my own camera this coming fiscal if it didn't get
dropped from the budget.

Hans

Greetings Technet.

I remember there were a few postings regarding the use of regular personal
digital cameras on a microscope. Can anyone recommend any brands that's
capable of being used with a microscope...and also taking macro pictures?

Thanks,

Hans Shin
