Peter,
We only apply conformal coat to a very small percentage of the total number
of CCAs we produce here.
Of those few that do get coated, our facility separates the individual CCAs
from their cluster prior to the application of conformal coat.
Although the situation hasn't come up here, I'd tend to be concerned with
the possibility of the conformal coating peeling from one or more of the
assemblies during the separation process.
Pete

Subject: [TN] Scoring & CC

What are people doing when conformal coating panels of multiple boards
which are scored for later separation?

Will coating get into the scored grooves and make depanelling difficult
and potentially damage the coating?

TIA,
Peter
