Hello Peter,

I'm not familiar with your process, since we do not conformal coat and then
de-panellise. But I would suspect that it would largely depend on the kind
of conformal coating. Some are more brittle, some are more elastic. some
have amazing adhesion, and some, well not so wonderful.

For anyone to properly answer the question, I think that more information is
required.

Just one suggestion. Is it possible to mask the area over the scoring (with
a thin tape or something similar) and remove it before curing the conformal
coating? (after all you don't seem to be worried too much about protection
on the edges if you de-panellise after coating)

Just a thought,

Subject: [TN] Scoring & CC

What are people doing when conformal coating panels of multiple boards
which are scored for later separation?

Will coating get into the scored grooves and make depanelling difficult
and potentially damage the coating?

TIA,
Peter
