Rick,

These seem to be in the normal range for ductile copper. Typically, the
higher the elongation is, the lower the tensile strength, and vice-versa.
A problem would be in the elongation is say 33%, the tensile strength may
drop below 30,000 psi. While the deposit will not exhibit corner cracking,
barrel cracking may be evident.

Best regards,

Mike Carano

We run copper plating tests monthly and send these to an independent
lab
for testing. The requirements are Tensile Strength 36,000 psi
minimum
and Elongation 6% minimum. My question to the experts is-- what if
our
readings were high, i.e. 43,000 psi and 20% elongation?
