You know that I share your view of the self-serving, opportunistic character
of the <no-lead in solder, no-bromine in epoxy> movement.  It has absolutely
nothing to do with protecting the environment, is a complete diversion from
the real issue-- recycling.
On the other hand, you have no right to assume that Gore is incapable of
understanding the real nature of the issue and of acting wisely.  Why don't
we try to reach him?

By the way, I was happy to see that David Bergman of the IPC co-signed Laura
Turbini's paper at the IEEE ISEE in SF, May 2000. And Fern Abrams of the IPC
reported some very disquieting questions about the no-lead position in a memo
on July 17.  Could this mean that the IPC is re-thinking its support?
