Regards the deepth of you bord into the wave,used to have a similar
problem with several "hard" to solder PWBs. Some bright spark introduced
us to "Board stiffners" that clip onto the leading and trailing edge of the
assembly. The extra height of these on the front of the PWB definatly lowers
the stress levels as they go through.

Hi Peter!
I use stiffeners quite a bit...but with this particular board there's right
angle connectors on both the leading and trailing edge...bummer!
