Bev,

As a person who is looking to switch from a non-aqueous system to a full
aqueous system to be more like the rest of the industry I'd have to ask why.

Several years ago we finally replaced our vapor degreaser with a non-aqueous
system that used alcohol and a proprietary compound based on terpenes. The
users did not like the overwhelming smell of Lestoil and the system seemed
to take forever to wash the boards. The end result is we have this really
cool stainless steel workbench in our board cleaning room. Want to buy a
used board cleaning system?

At present we are soaking our boards in alcohol and brushing off the heavy
stuff. This is a facility that builds boards 5, 10 or 20 at a time. No 100
plus piece runs.

What I want to do is switch our facility over to newer technology and
replace our rosin core solder for aqueous friendly cores with an aqueous
batch cleaner to finish the job.

Just one man's opinion.

Regards,

Technetters,
Any recommendations about self-contained, batch, non-aqueous systems? I am
not referring to vapour degreaser types. I am looking for something with an
active cleaning cycle. Comments about different solvents would also be
appreciated. Dealers/manufacturers may write to me directly to avoid
getting flamed. Thanks.
