Ken,
        I hate to repeat what someone already said, but I think what Steven
said must be strongly reinforced.  It is absolutely correct that your screen
print and pick and place accuracy must be dead on.  Both the screen print
process and the chip shooter must be taken right to the absolute limit of
their capability.  We even go so far as to have separate offsets for each
screen print stroke.  Dial in your process on the 0402's and let the fine
pitch fall where it may.
