In a past life we used them in MIL application. Put them on Kevlar PCB's to provide a better CTE match. Limited size (I believe it was LCC20 or LCC24 max...). Also used elevated solder joints.

Bottom line... Was a very costly part to use (material $ for PCB, process development and validation, special process, etc.)

Also used them mounted to a ceramic substrate. Perfect CTE match, no problems.

Greetings,

Is anybody out there using leadless ceramic chip carriers in a military environment without attaching leads? If so, what size are you using?

Thanks in advance for any information,

Bill Robinson
