Steve,

I know that it not exactly the same thing, but multichip modules (aka -
MCM's or hybrids) for space applications would seem to have certain
similarities to PWB types of products.

We each have our own processes to control and tight visual and traceability
requirements to maintain.

We have to deal with lot acceptance testing of the bare semiconductor
devices and radiation hardness testing, tighter controls over burn-in
failures and assocciated lot acceptance, etc.

As Bruce indicated, you may consider it to be an OPPORTUNITY. If you build
high rel product now, you likely already have a documention system and
operator training system in place that will go a long way to providing the
traceablity and operator skills that you will need.

Be sure that management knows that some 'fine tuning' of existing systems
may be required.

Probably not much help, but just my 'two pence'
