Roland

There's a company in CH called Vogt (sorry don't have the details here)
which specialises in this. Also Egli Fischer in ZH have a thing called
the Multicore Copperset which is a length of copper-plated solder a tad
longer than the thickness of the PCB, which is squashed into the hole.
When the solder melts, it positions the copper plating between the upper
and lower pads, forming effectively a soldered-in-place rivet. By
sucking out the solder, it can also be used for component wires.

Best regards

Brian
