Russ,

There are several manufacturers of "label systems" (Brady is just one) using
a white or yellow polyimide label that is designed to be on the solder side
"for direct exposure through wave solder and mixed SMT processes".

We currently serialize our boards with a rubber stamp and UV curable ink.
The results are not always exactly legible.  Is there a better way to
