Hi Alan,

Our PPE for Hollis wave flow soldering machine

Chemical protection based on Flux, Solder Mask and Tinning Oil MSDSs.
Physical protection from high heat

safety glasses with side shields (general shop requirement).
chemical splash protective goggles
face shield (when the machine is open and running)

heavy duty neoprene apron
chemically resistant lab coat or ESD smock

latex or nitrile gloves (powder free)
burn protective gloves ("Big Bear Paws")

The respirator is only required when the machine's ventilation is
insufficient to keep the vapor/fume concentration below acceptable levels.

Hello Technetters:

I'm curious what other companies are doing in the wave solder area for:
eyewear,
smocks, respirators, gloves, etc. when: loading and unloading
boards/fixtures;
de-drossing the solder pot; refilling or cleaning the fluxer area; or any
other
wave solder related tasks.

Any recommendations on style/company of the PPE would be greatly
appreciated.
